Freight traffic at the Port of Singapore in January-September 2019 edged down 0.5% on the same period in 2018, to 467.9 million tonnes, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore provisional figures show.
Nine-month volume of oil cargo and non-oil bulk cargo climbed 1.4% and 0.5%, accordingly, to 165.77 million and 13 million tonnes. General cargo increased by 1.3% to 18.3 million tonnes.
Container traffic edged up 0.3% to 27.5 million TEUs.
Singapore is the city-state located on an island in Southeast Asia. In 2018, the port handled 630.03 million tonnes of cargo.
