Navigation season of 2019 closed in Ob Basin of Russia’s IWW

Navigation season of 2019 has been closed on the waterways of the Ob Basin, say press center of Rosmorrechflot (Federal Marine and River Transport Agency).

In 2019, total length of waterways with aid to navigation was 3,391 kilometers.

The scope of dredging performed on the waterways of the Ob Basin totaled 4,057.2 thousand cbm.

413 locking operations were performed between May 10 and September 21 with 478 ships conveyed through the Novosibirsk lock.

Passenger turnover on the waterways – 898,000, cargo turnover – 7.68 million tonnes.

Ferry services are still in operation.

Administration of the Ob Basin manages 7,245 kilometers of waterways in the Altay Republic, Altay and Krasnoyarsk Territories, Novosibirsk, Tomsk and Kemerovo Regions.

Key waterways in the Basin: Ob, Biya, Katun, Vasyugan, Ket, Tym, Parabel, Chulym, Berd, Chaya, Nyurolka rivers and streams.
