Throughput of port Kaliningrad in Jan-Nov’2019 fell by 21% Y-o-Y to 10.20 million tonnes
In January-November 2019, the port of Kaliningrad handled 10,207,200 tonnes of cargo, down 21%, year-on-year, says Baltic Sea Ports Administration.
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo dropped by 35% to 1,413,900 tonnes including 791,600 tonnes of coal (-25%), 4,200 tonnes of mineral fertilizers (-32%) and 596,000 tonnes of other cargoes (-45%).
Transshipment of dry bulk cargo declined by 16% to 3,424,300, general cargo – by 28% to 1,178,100 tonnes.
The port also handled 650,100 tonnes of cargo carried by ferries (-36%) and 2,245,000 tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (-23%) including 919,800 tonnes of oil products (-46%), 513,700 tonnes of crude oil (+1%), 750,900 tonnes of food cargo (+10%) and 60,600 tonnes of chemicals (+27%).
The port’s container throughput grew by 18%, year-on-year, to 298,935 TEUs.
