Net profit of Aktau International Commercial Seaport (Kazakhstan) down 15% in Jan-Sep 07

In January-September 2007, net profit of Aktau International Commercial Seaport (Kazakhstan) totaled 1.49 billion tenge against 1.757 billion tenge in January-September 2006 (-15.2%), Interfax reports according to Gudok.Ru quoting the port’s information. According to the source, the sales of goods, works and services amounted to 4.251 billion tenge (+13.3%). As of September 30, the company’s assets made 17.141 billion tenge against 16.481 billion tenge as of the beginning of the year (+4%), own capital – 8.793 billion tenge against 7.303 billion tenge (+20.4%).

The port’s authorized capital totals 235.642 million тенге. As PortNews IAA reported earlier, in January-September 2007, Aktau International Commercial Seaport decreased its throughput by 2.5%, year-on-year, to 8.1 million tonnes of general and oil cargo. The port of Aktau (on the Caspian Sea, Mangistau region, west Kazakhstan) is the only international seaport of Kazakhstan. Today it specializes in transshipment of oil, metal, grain and other cargo to the ports of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan. As of November 1, 120.89 tenge equals $1.
