Throughput of Kherson Commercial Seaport up 46.3% in Jan-Sep 07, y-o-y

In January-September 2007, Commercial Seaport of Kherson increased its throughput by 46.3%, year-on-year, to 2.757 million tonnes, the port’s administration reports according to RBC-Ukraine. In the reported period, transit grew 2.2 times to 390,300 tonnes, import – 3.3 times to 116,900 tonnes, coastal trade cargo –3 times to 1.199 million tonnes, export fell by 16.6% to 1.044 million tonnes. Export of vegetable oil decreased by 30.4% - to 101,200 tonnes. Transshipment of grain, construction materials, chemicals and other dry cargo grew 1.5-fold to 2.656 million tonnes, while the transit of the same goods grew 2.2 times to 390,300 tonnes, export – down 14.8% to 942,500 tonnes. In 2006, throughput of Kherson Commercial Seaport grew by 5% - to 2.849 million tonnes.
