Feasibility study for a project on transfer of international commercial seaport of Baku will be completed in December 2007. Research works are being carried out close to Alat district of Baku, the site chosen for transfer of the port, Sadraddin Mamedov, head of the project working group says according to Day.Az. On September 3, Korea-based GS Engineering&Construction provided the Ministry of Transport with a final version of the project on construction of new seaport. The project is to be implemented in three stages: from 2008 till 2011, from 2011 till 2013, from 2013 till 2015. The project is valued at $396 million. There will be 11 berths, 6 of which are to be built at the first phase. In 2015, the port’s capacity is to make 11.6 million tonnes.
