In January-October 2007, container terminal of Iljichevsk port (Ukraine) handled 360,076 TEU (+41.8%, year-on-year), press center of National Container Company informs. In October of the current year the terminal handled 50,198 TEU, or 27,612 units (+69.4%, year-on-year). The source attributes high results to application of new portal cranes, introduction of new container lines as well as inclusion of the terminal into rotation of Maersk, Norasia, China Shipping, CSCL and ZIM services.

It’s a large-scale project on construction of a container terminal to be implemented within the framework of a Public-Private Partnership. It is part of a group of projects aimed at construction of a multifunctional port at the mouth of the Luga-river;
