Throughput of Murmansk Commercial Seaport totals 11.8 million tonnes in Jan-Oct 07

In January-October 2007, Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC handled 11,779,103 tonnes of different cargo, the company’s press center reports according to RBC. In the reported period, the port handled 173,11 wagons and 465 vessels. In October, the port increased cargo handling by 12%, year-on-year, to 1,214,189 tonnes (17,750 wagons including 13,112 wagons loaded with coal and 60 vessels). In October the port exported 1,154,256 tonnes pf cargo (+12.7%, year-on-year) including 901,000 tonnes of coal, 194,500 tonnes of apatite, 34,800 tonnes of non-ferrous metal.
Murmansk Commercial Seaport OJSC is a stevedoring company operating at the port of Murmansk. It is the largest coal transshipment point in the North Sea Basin. Besides, the company specializes in transshipment of apatite and general cargo including containers. The company was set up in 1994. Its authorized capital totals RUR 227.37 million. Major shareholders are Rosimushchestvo (25.5%), CJSC ING Bank (Eurasia)", Laterium Commercial Ltd. (12.68%), Diamat Trading Commercial Ltd. (12.48%), РFFI (0.0033%).
