In January-September 2007, the port of Hamburg handled 105.1 million tonnes (+4.7%, year-on-year), the port’s representative informs according to RZD-Partner. Transshipment of general cargo (98% of which is containerized cargo) grew by 9.4%, while transshipment of bulk cargo fell by 5.1%. Container turnover of the port grew by 15% to 7.427 billion. The highest growth was registered in trade with Asia (+18.4%, year-on-year, to 4.173 million TEU). The second place is taken by the Baltic states, Russia and Finland (+31.8%, year-on-year, to 411,468 TEU). Cargo turnover between Hamburg and Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) grew by 23.9% to 166,216 TEU. Cargo turnover between Hamburgand Finland grew by 0.4%, year-on-year, to 386 923 TEU. Container turnover in the portLubek (part of Metropolregion Hamburg) which services transport flows of the Baltic Sea grew by 7% to 102,400 TEU. of
