Throughput of Mariupol port up 10.3% in Jan-Oct 07, y-o-y

In Jan-Oct 07, y-o-y 2007, Commercial Seaport of Mariupol (Ukraine) handled 14.55 million tonnes (+10.3%, year-on-year), Interfax reports according to Gudok.RU. According to the source, transshipment of metal grew by 7.1% - to 6.94 million tonnes, coal – by 9.1% to 3.23 million tonnes, clay – by 21.2% to 2.73 million tonnes. However, transshipment of grain cargo fell by 46.1% - to 212,300 tonnes. Commercial Seaport of Mariupol is one of Ukraine’s three largest ports. Its capacities are capable of handling over 12 million tonnes. The port may accept vessels with length of up to 240 meters and draft of up to 8 meters.
