Development of maritime civil equipment is an urgent issue requiring special attention and dynamic actions news agency Regnum quotes PM Viktor Zubkov as saying today at the meeting of RF Government.
According to Zubkov, existing production facilities require modernization while accumulated scientific engineering potential and new projects in shipbuilding do not find application. Zubkov also noted that the issue of national shipbuilding enterprises has been frequently discussed by RF President and Government with corresponding instructions. “The branch reforms are dragged out though today maritime transport is in demand at the world markets especially in view of increased competition related to development of hydrocarbon fields at continental shelf,” RF PM says. He also added that competitiveness of Russian shipbuilding is the demand of national economics. The Government Chairman says dynamic development of shipbuilding stimulates development of related industries and ensures creation of new work places.
