In January-October 2007, Ventspils nafta terminals (VNT, subsidiary of Ventspils nafta JSC) handled 11.2 million tonnes of cargo (+6.4 million tonnes, year-on-year) VN press center reports according to Delfi. The source says oil and oil products are delivered to VNT by railway, sea and diesel fuel pipeline.
In the 10-month period, VNT transported mainly diesel fuel (7.8 million tonnes) delivered by railway and oil product pipeline. In January-October 2007, transshipment of petrol delivered by railway amounted 1.6 million tonnes, transshipment of oil and oil products delivered by sea totaled 1.6 million tonnes including 0.9 million tonnes of crude oil.
Ventspils nafta terminals Ltd is the largest company in the JSC Ventspils nafta concern. 51% of its shares belong to JSC Ventspils nafta, but 49% of the capital are owned by Euromin Holdings (Cyprus) Limited, a company of the international consortium Vitol and shareholder of JSC Ventspils nafta. The terminal provides such transit services as acceptance of oil and diesel fuel delivered by pipelines as well as acceptance, storage and transshipment of diesel fuel, petrol and other cargo delivered by railway and sea. VNT is the largest company of this type in the region. Thecapacity of its storage facilities is 1.2 million m3.
