Reconstructed berth is put into operation in Yuzhny port (Ukraine)

Commercial Seaport Yuzhny has completed reconstruction of the sand berth for transshipment of coastal trade, export and import cargo, the port’s press center reports. The berth is fitted with up-to-date handling equipment. The berth may accept up to 120-meter long vessels. The depth at the berth is 6 meters, which makes it possible to handle Volgo-Balt and Volgo-Don vessels with capacity of 3,000-5,000 tonnes.

Yuzhny port is located at the north-western coast of the Black Sea, in ice-free Maly Adzhalyksky (Grigorievsky) estuary, 30 km from Odessa port. The port provides all-the-year-round navigation. The port’s approach channel is 2 miles long and 14.5 meters deep. As of today, Yuzhny is the second largest port in Ukraine in terms of throughput which is 20.698.6 million tonnes per year.
