Throughput of Petersburg Oil Terminal totals 9.7 million tonnes in Jan-Oct 07

In January-October 2007, Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC increased transshipment by 800,000 tonnes, year-on-year, to 9.7 million tonnes of oil products, PortNews IAA learnt from the company. Transshipment of dark oil products grew by 837,000 tonnes against the results of 2006 to 6.8 million tonnes. In October the terminal handled 1 million tonnes (+31,000 tonnes) of oil products including 742,000 tonnes of dark oil products (+91,000 tonnes, year-on-year).

POT is located within the water area of the port of St. Petersburg. It is not only the largest stevedoring company of the port but also the largest sea-based oil product terminal at the Baltic Sea. Petersburg Oil Terminal CJSC specializes in transshipment and storage of oil products meant for export and bunkering of vessels. The terminal’s annual capacity is 12 million tonnes of oil products. Oil products are delivered by railway, pipelines and water transport and then shipped by marine transport and trucks.
