Port workers of JSC Sea Port of St. Petersburg plan to start an unlimited strike from 8.00 a.m. (Moscow time) on November 13, 2007, PRIME-TASS reports according to Rb.ru quoting Aleksandr Moiseenko, Chairman of the Port Committee of Russian Port Worker’s Trade Union. According to Mr. Moiseenko, the union and the port’s administration have failed to agree on resolution of the industrial dispute. "The strike is to involve some 1,300-1,500 workers (dock workers and mechanics) of three stevedoring companies. The Committee plans to start the strike at 8.00 a.m. (Moscow time). During the strike, the first and the last hour of each shift will be working hours. According to Mr. Moiseenko, Administration of Sea Port of St. Petersburg was going to ask the court to announce the strike illegal but no document confirming it are still not available. The Administration rejected to comment.
