Throughput of Vostochnaya Stevedore Company up 31% in Jan-Oct 07, y-o-y

In January-October 2007, Vostochnaya Stevedore Company (VSC LLC) handled 306,431TEU (+31%, year-on-year), VSC press center reports. In the reported period, export grew by 34% to 113,407 TEU, import – by 40 % to 178,099 TEU, transit – by 69% to 2,910 TEU. In the 10-month period, 58.1% of the company’s throughput fell on import, 37% – export, 4 % - coastal trade cargo, 0.9% – transit.

In October, export amounted to 11,658 TEU (+15 %), import – 19,843 TEU (+22%), coastal trade cargo 1,036 TEU (-33%).

According to the company’s forecasts VSC throughput to exceed 370,000 TEU in January-December 2007.
