In January-October 2007, commercial seaport of Nakhodka handled 5.126.8 million tonnes (-23.1%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from Vostochny branch of RosMorPort FSUE. In the reported period the port handled 3.389.2 million tonnes of general cargo (-32.4%, year-on-year) including 166,700 tonnes of containerized cargo (-22.2%), 2.985.9 million tonnes of metal (-35.1%), 25,300 tonnes of scrap metal (-3.7%, year-on-year). Shipment of timber totaled 1.569.9 million tonnes (-0.8%) including 1.246.6 tonnes of round timber (-4.5%), 323,300 tonnes of sawn timber (+16.5%). In the 10-month period the port handled 167,700 tonnes of dry bulk cargo (2.3-fold increase, year-on-year) including 21,200 tonnes of coal and coke (+73.8%), and 146,500 tonnes of ore (2.4-fold increase, year-on-year).
