According to Liaoning provincial government's plan, port of Dalian's throughput is to reach 11 million TEU or 250 million tons by 2010 while the aggregate throughput of the ports in Liaoning province will reach 14 million TEU or 500 million tons, Xinhua reported.
The plan predicts that by 2010, port of Dalian's throughput will rise higher to 20 million TEU or 500 million tons while the throughputs of Liaoning's ports will add up to 35 million or one billion TEU.
To anticipate this, Liaoning province will accelerate the construction of new port infrastructures and supporting facilities.
