Suzhou volume up 58pc to 1.5 million TEU to October

Port of Suzhou's throughput from January to October surged 58 per cent over the corresponding period last year to 1.52 million TEU, Xinhua reported.
The eastern China port's overall tonnage rose 20 per cent to 148 million tons, making it the largest harbour in Jiangsu province.
Taicang port area's box throughput surged 83 per cent to 803,100 TEU. Its cargo throughput increased 41 per cent to 25 million tons. Changshu port area's throughput went 33 per cent up to 27.9 million tons. Zhangjianggang port area handled 95.6 million tons, which took up 64 per cent of Suzhou port's total.
