In January-September 2007, container throughput of Russian stevedoring companies exceeded 2.26 million TEU (+26%, year-on-year). According to the statistics department of the Association of Commercial Seaports (ASOP), export accounted for 43% in total container throughput, import – 46.8%, transit – 0.4%, coastal trade cargo – 9.8%. Over 60% of total volume was handled by the ports of the North-West region of Russia, 26% - Far Eastern ports, 11.7% - the ports of the Southern Basin.
In the reported period, the ports of the North-West region of Russia handled over 1.405 mln TEU (+23%, or + 268,000 TEU, year-on-year). Export amounted to 668,000 TEU, import - 692,000 TEU, coastal trade cargo - 44,800 TEU. Stevedoring companies of the port of St. Petersburg (including PKT CJSC, PLP OJSC, Moby Dick LLC, Sea Port of St. Petersburg OJSC) handled 1,239 TEU (+20%). Container turnover of the port of Kaliningrad (including Kaliningrad MTP OJSC, Baltic Stevedoring Company LLC, Kaliningrad Sea Fishing Port FSUE) totaled 123,000 TEU (+77%).
The ports of the Far-East region of Russia handled some 600,000 TEU (+22%, or +108,000 TEU, year-on-year). Export totaled 178,000 TEU, import - 235,000 TEU, coastal trade cargo - 177,000 TEU, transit - 7,000 TEU. Stevedoring companies of Vostochny port (VSC LLC) handled 274,000 TEU (+33%). Stevedoring companies of Vladivostok port (including Vladivostok Commercial Seaport OJSC, Vladivostok Sea Fishing Port OJSC, Servis-Port LLC) handled 218,000 TEU (+27%). The port of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski handled 21,000 TEU, Sakhalin - 27,000 TEU, Vanino - 22,000 TEU.
