On November 19, Krasnodar regional court ruled that the strike of the dockworkers at the Black Sea port of Tuapse was illegal. Earlier a claim was filed by Commercial Seaport of Tuapse OJSC against the port’s trade union and strike committee to invalidate an unlimited strike announced by the employees’ conference on October 24, 2007.
The strike in the port of Tuapse started on November 4, 2007. The port’s administration filed a claim to invalidate the strike upon violation of labor legislation regulating the procedure and terms of a strike. On November 6, Krasnodar regional court ruled that the strike should be halted until the court makes its decision. The strike was haulted following the court’s ruling.
