AP Moller rejoins Intertanko

Danish shipping giant AP Moller has rejoined Intertanko after a 13 year absence. AP Moller's was one of nine new membership applications totalling 122 vessels of 12.8m dwt, that were accepted at the autumn Intertanko Council meeting held last week in London. National Iranian Tanker Company, which is now a private sector company, also joined Intertanko.
This takes Intertanko's membership to a total of 280 with a fleet of 2800 tankers of 233m dwt - representing nearly 80% of the independent deepsea tanker fleet.
In addition, 14 new associate membership applications were approved, taking the Association's Associate Membership to 325.
