A Norwegian company plans to store Russian and Norwegian oil in huge mountain deposits on the Sørøya island for transhipments.
NordOil Caverns plans to bring in oil from the Norwegian Goliat field – located near the Snøhvit gas field – to a terminal, which will also handle Russian oil brought in from the east by tankers. Estimated reserves of the Goliat field are at least 250 million tonnes of oil equivalents, Scandinavian Shipping Gazette reports according to RZD-Partner.
