Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the head of the governing board of Russia's Gazprom open joint-stock company, Aleksey Miller, on November 27.
While discussing the implementation of a long-term contract on the supply of Turkmen natural gas to Russia, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to increase gas imports, the Turkmen State News Service (TDH) reports according to Turkmenistan.ru
Having touched on the issue of the practical implementation of a project to construct the Caspian gas pipeline and modernize the existing interstate gas transport system, the Turkmen president and the head of Gazprom agreed to speed up the construction of the new gas pipeline. In this connection, the sides agreed that the project should start before the next year.
