Murmansk Shipping Company to build bunkering station

Interagency committee on economics of location has announced its approval as regards a Declaration of intent to invest into construction of a bunkering station, which had been furnished by Murmansk Shipping Company OJSC, B-Port informs.

“The requirements to bunker quality are getting much stricter each year. We are not always guaranteed as regards the quality of fuel sold by outside suppliers. Expertise usually takes 2 or 3 days and it is ready when our vessels are in the sea. Sometimes we have to stop engines,” Aleksandr Medvedev, Director General of Murmansk Shipping Company has told today at the meeting.

The complex is to cost RUR 380 million. It is to be built at the territory owned by the company. The design capacity of the complex is over 1.5 million tonnes per year. “We plan to supply 93,000 tonnes of fuel to our company”, Mr. Medvedev said.
