Throughput of NCC terminals up 18.5% in Jan-Nov 07, y-o-y

In January-November 2007, throughput of the terminals of National Container Company (NCC) grew by 18.5%, year-on-year, to 1,398,602 TEU, the company’s press center reports.

Throughput of First Container Terminal grew by 7.8% to 869,672 TEU. In November, the terminal handled 84,112 TEU, or 48,882 units (+3.6%, year-on-year). The volume of refrigerated containers handled by the terminal amounted to 10,952 TEU (+24%, year-on-year). Export totaled 41,397 TEU, import 42,715 TEU. In November the terminal handled 65 vessels with average turnover of 1,294 TEU per vessel.

In January-November 2007, container turnover of Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company of Novorossiysk(NUTEP) grew by 44.75%, year-on-year, to 126,059 TEU. In November the terminal handled 7,589 TEU, or 5,172 units. Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 3,999 TEU, import 3,590 TEU. Loaded-empty containers ratio was 59% against 41% respectively. Average turnover of was 1 518 TEU per vessel.

In the reported period, container turnover of Iljichevsk container terminal grew by 40.9%, year-on-year, to 402,871 TEU. In November, the terminal handled 42,795 TEU, or 23,436 units (+33.8%, year-on-year). Transshipment of export cargo amounted to 22.721 TEU, import – 20,074 TEU. Loaded-empty containers ratio was 55% against 45% respectively.

- First Container Terminal (port of St. Petersburg, leader at the market of container cargo transshipment in Russia, CIS and Baltic countries, capacity - 1 million TEU per year with a perspective expansion to 1.6 million TEU per year);

- Nodal Transporting and Forwarding Company of Novorossiysk (NUTEP, port of Novorossiysk, current capacity of 130 thou TEU with a perspective expansion to 750 thou TEU); 

- Iljichevsk container terminal (Ukraine, current capacity of 450 thou TEU with a perspective expansion to 4 million TEU);

- Baltic Container Terminal in Ust-Luga (design capacity of up to 6 million TEU).  It’s a large-scale project on construction of a container terminal to be implemented within the framework of a Public-Private Partnership. It is part of a group of projects aimed at construction of a multifunctional port at the mouth of the Luga-river;

- land-based logistics center and container terminal Shushary (Leningrad region) with a design capacity of up to 400 thou TEU per year at the territory of 92 hectares.
