Technical Requirements for the Arrangement and Securing of the International Standard Containers on Board the Ships Intended for Container Transportation have come into force.
The new edition of the Technical Requirements have been developed on the basis of the previous one, taking into account the amendments thereto, as well as the requirements of the current normative documents of RS.
Based on the Technical Requirements, RS performs technical survey of the arrangement and securing of the international standard containers on board the ships intended for container transportation, and of container securing devices, including survey of the manufacture and tests of the container securing devices.
The Technical Requirements have been developed as applied to the ISO series 1 containers.
Other types of containers securing is subject to special consideration taking into account their strength and rigidity.
The system of surveys, inspections and tests of container securing devices in service includes a procedure of their periodical submission to RS to ensure safe service according to the Technical Requirements. All the container securing devices in service are subject to initial, annual and special surveys to assure that they are in a good technical condition and that the required documents are issued for them.
RS is authorized by the Government of the Russian Federation to carry out survey for compliance with the requirements of the International Convention for Safe Containers, 1972, Customs Convention on Containers, 1972 and International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code.
RS issues documents allowing international operation of containers and their transportation by sea, rail and road.
RS has gained a unique experience of providing high standards of safety and environmental protection at transport and industrial sectors.
