Tariffs for transportation of cargo to Russian ports to grow by 14.8% in 2008 – Federal Tariff Service

Management of RF Federal Tariff Service has set the level of indexation for cargo transportation by railways for 2008, Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner. According to the source, FTS continues the process of cargo tariffs unification. In particular, the tariffs for transportation of cargo to Russian seaports will be increased by 14.8% in 2008, while the tariffs for transportation to border crossings will stay at the level of 2007. In 2008, the tariffs for transportation of cargo to border crossings will exceed those for transportation to Russian seaports by 1.5-1.6 times. The policy of unification was launched in 2005 in order to raise the tariffs for transportation of cargo to Russian seaports with preservation of those for transportation of cargo to border crossings.
