Dock workers of Sea Port of St. Petersburg OJSC are eyeing falsification of municipal court’s judgment invalidating the strike of the company’s employees, chairman of the port dock workers’ committee Alexander Moiseyenko told RBC.
According to Mr. Moiseyenko the trade union has not been provided with the documents substantiating the judgment of St. Petersburg municipal Court. However, Mr. Moiseyenko does not rule out the possibility of appellation to a higher court as soon as the trade union receives the documents.
As it was reported earlier, the strike started on November 13, at 08:00 a.m. (Moscow time) by the workers of First Stevedoring Company, Second Stevedoring Company and Forth Stevedoring Company of Morport OJSC under initiative of Russian Trade Union of Dockworkers They demanded a 20-25-percent rise in tariffs and guaranteed wages. During the strike, the dockworkers worked only one hour at the beginning and one hour at the end of each shift. The management of Sea Port of St. Petersburg considered the position of the dockworkers to be a destructive one, while the activities of the Trade Union Committee to be of populist nature.
