Throughput of Free Port of Riga up 0.4% in Jan-Nov 07, y-o-y

In January-November 2007, Free Port of Riga handled 23.61 million tonnes of cargo (+0.4%, year-on-year), RZD-Partner reports. Transshipment of loose bulk amounted to 13.853 million tonnes (-4.1%, year-on-year), coal – 9.319 million tonnes (-7.6%), mineral fertilizers – 1.722 million tonnes (+37.3%), general cargo – 5.221 million tonnes (+13.2%) including 2.758 million tonnes of timber, 1.616 million tonnes of containerized cargo (+17.3%). In the reported period the port handled 4.537 million tonnes of liquid bulk cargo (+1.6%) including 4.502 million tonnes of oil cargo (+2%).
