In January-November 2007, transshipment of crude and refined products via Batumi Oil Terminal LLC (Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi) fell by 21.1%, year-on-year, to 8.591.6 million tonnes, Interfax reports according to RZD-Partner.
In the reported period, the terminal shipped 6.51 million tonnes of crude. In November, the terminal transshipped 339,700 tonnes of crude (-111,600 tonnes against October 07), 136,700 tonnes of heavy fuel oil (-83,200 tonnes against October 07) and 125,100 tonnes of diesel fuel (+96,000 tonnes).
Batumi gets most of its volumes from Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan by railway. The terminal’s annual capacity is 15 million tonnes of oil and oil products. In 2006, overall shipments from Batumi rose by 20.62%, year-on-year, to 11.7 million tonnes. Batumi Oil Terminal LLC is owned by Petrotrans (founded in 2004), which is a part of Denmark-based Greenoak Holdings, Kazakh state oil firm KazMunaiGaz and French bank BNP Paribas.
