In January-November 2007, commercial seaport Nakhodka handled 5.764.4 million tonnes of cargo (-19.3%, year-on-year), PortNews IAA learnt from Vostochny branch of RosMorPort FSUE. In the reported period, the port handled 3.832.3 million tonnes of general cargo (-28.3%, year-on-year) including 187,300 tonnes of containerized cargo (-20.9%), 3.345.5 tonnes of metal (-31.6%), 30,400 tonnes of scrap metal (-4.7%). Shipment of timber fell by 6.6% to 1.607.9 million tonnes including 1.262.9 million tonnes of round timber (-10.8%), 345,000 tonnes of sawn timber (+13%). In the 11-month period, the port handled 324,500 tonnes of dry bulk cargo (4.2-fold increase against January-November 2006) including 66,600 tonnes of coal (up 5.5 times). Transshipment of ore grew 4-fold to 257,900 tonnes.
