PRISCO’s specialists participated in working-out of recommendations for Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF). Their recommendations have been added to the new Navigation Code for aframaxes operating in ices and under conditions of negative degrees. This Navigation Code is for charter and inspection divisions of the companies which are members of OCIMF.
Former Code gave recommendations to operation only in Baltic Sea and near the shore of Canada. New Code which will be issued on December, 2007, is added recommendations to transportation of bulk liquid cargoes in freezing Far Eastern seas. In recent years aframaxes operate in above-mentioned region. PRISCO was offered to work out recommendations to operation in the Far Eastern seas because the company has a great work experience in operation in that region. Recommendations given by PRISCO’s specialists are based on the company’s work experience and regard to ship preparation for navigation in autumn and winter, safe navigation in ices, maneuvering at the ports, mooring, and etc. First of all the above-mentioned recommendations are given to provide safe transportation of bulk liquid cargoes and fulfil handling operations in freezing Far Eastern seas.
