Hainan province inaugurated the construction of the First Logistics Centre recently in the boundary area between Haikou city and Chengmai county, Xinhua reported.
The CNY189 million (US$25.50 million) 354,668-square metre logistics centre is expected to handle 1.8 million tons of cargo annually, the report said. It is to be a trading and processing centre of agricultural products, and a supporting project of the Southern Logistics Station of Yuehai Railway connecting Hainan with Guangdong provinces.
