Russia next week will lift temporary restrictions on the import of livestock products from Poland that had been introduced in November 2005, Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev said after talks with Polish Minister of Agriculture Marek Sawicki on Wednesday according to Itar-Tass.
“The restrictions will be lifted after the signing of a corresponding memorandum between the veterinary services of Russia and Poland in Kaliningrad next week,” Gordeyev specified. Thus, the minister stressed, “we (together with the Polish veterinary service) guarantee that quality Polish products will be supplied to Russia and the import of meat products from third countries and abuses of unscrupulous businesses will be totally ruled out.”
