The US import service is available for cargoes originating in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Dalian, Qingdao, Shenzen and Xiamen.
In a bid to shorten transit times, this service known as 'PriorityAssured' awards priority to the inbound cargo, arriving in the US from these six locations, as it has already pre-cleared customs. It also prioritises onward carriage by providing a priority trucking service, thus avoiding rail congestion.
If the schedule is not met, the customer will be refunded an unspecified portion of the shipment cost, said a company statement. "We have put serious thought designing this service," said Vanguard North America managing director Jeff Lee.
