Trade between Russia and Germany has grown more than threefold within the last six years, Deputy Economy Minister Anna Popova said at the opening of the Russian-German Chamber of Commerce today according to RBC. According to the ministry's forecast, trade volume between the two countries will amount to $50bn compared with $42bn a year earlier, accounting for more than 10 percent of Russia's overall foreign trade.
Russia's imports of German goods and services, especially machinery, equipment, and cars, have increased considerably, Germany's Economy and Technology Minister Michael Glos noted. He added that German equipment and machinery could contribute greatly to the modernisation of Russian companies and the Russian economy's diversification.
