PRISCO’ll build vessels unequalled anywhere in the world

Primorsk Shipping Corporation is one of the fisrt in the world will build and operate on vessels complied with Winterization class D (-25) according to the Lloyd’s Register.

Seven tankers of 51 000 tons deadweight each will be put into operation from staples of South Korean shipyard STX. On October, 2008 “PRISCO Alexandra”, main vessel of above-mentioned class, will be put into operation. The other vessels will be put into operation by May, 2009.

As Konstantin Globenko, Director of Fleet Technical Department, PRISCO, says new vessels are being built in compliance with new rules for shipbuilding and operation under the conditions of negative degrees worked out by Lloyd’s Register. New vessels of 50000 tons deadweight each will be built not only in compliance with ice class standard but also meet particular requirements. These vessels will be fitted with special systems and equipment providing ships with safe navigation and transportation of bulk liquid cargoes under the conditions of negative degrees up to -25 degrees. In this way these vessels will be the first tankers in the world built in compliance with new Lloyd’s rules and Winterization class standards.

PRISCO is a recognized leader in ice class tankers’ operation under the harsh conditions in Arctic and North Baltic. Company’s policy focused on providing safe oil transportation from Nothern Russia.
