RF Transport Ministry forecasts the throughput of Russian ports to grow 6.9% in 2007

The volume of cargo handled by Russian seaports is likely to total 460 million tonnes in 2007, Gudok.RU reports with reference to Interfax quoting RF Minister of Transport Igor Levitin as saying at the briefing held Wednesday. According to Levitin, there is a tendency to increase the tonnage of vessels as it is more profitable to charter large-capacity vessels today.
