Throughput of Hamburg port up 4% in Jan-Nov 07, y-o-y

In January-November 2007, the port of Hamburg (Germany) handled 128.648 million tonnes of cargo (+4%, year-on-year), the port’s RF representative office reports according to RZD-Partner. Transshipment of general cargo totaled 90.755 million tonnes including 88.141 million tonnes of containerized cargo and 2.614 million tonnes of conventional cargo. Transshipment of bulk cargo (dry and liquid) amounted to 37.893 million tonnes.

In the reported period, container turnover totaled 9.113.210 mln TEU (+12.7%, year-on-year). The volume of cargo transported between the port of Hamburg and the ports of the Baltic Sea grew by 22.6% to 1.225 mln TEU. Container turnover between the port of Hamburg and Russia grew by 130,000 TEU, year-on-year. Turnover between the port of Hamburg and Poland, Baltic States, Denmark and Sweden grew while that between the port of Hamburg and Finland fell in January-November 2007.
