Rosneft plans to sell 1.5-1.7 million tonnes of bunker fuel in 2008

Oil company Rosneft has started shipment of bunker fuel to its own sea terminals, the company reports. In November-December 07, Rosneft filled 6 large-capacity vessels in Archangelsk and 7 vessels in Nakhodka. In future the corporation is to develop its bunkering activities in the ports of Primorsk and Khabarovsk regions, on Sakhalin, in the Black, White and Barents Seas as well as at internal waterways, RBC reports according to Neft Rossii.

In the nearest future the company is to start supply of bunker fuel to Tuapse, Syzran and Rostov. In 2008 it plans to sell 1.5-1.7 million tonnes of bunker fuel. The company also plans to create bunkering centers on the basis of its sea terminals and to boost production of marine fuel at its refineries in order to raise sales of bunker oil products to 10 million tonnes by 2020.

Rosneft is Russia’s largest oil producer. Rosneftegaz OJSC owns 75.16% in the company’s authorized capital, the rest of shares belong to different strategic, institutional and individual investors. In 2007, Rosneft plans to produce 102.5 million tonnes of oil and to increase production to over 140 million tonnes by 2012.
