Financial-industrial group Privat plans to build a container terminal Odesselmash capable of handling 2-2.5 mln TEU per year. The terminal is to be built at the territory of an agricultural engineering plant in Odessa, Ukrainian news agency learnt from a representative of Odesselmash, the control stock of which is held by Privat. The construction is valued at $400-500 million. According to the source, it will take 2.5-3 years to build the terminal. The project is driven by a market demand for Ukrainian container handling capacities. The plant’s advantage is its location within the near-shore area with an approach to the water area via a 1.2-km long coast-protection dam. The plant covering the territory of 62 hectares is located in the area of motor- and railway communications.
