Ukraine Government to raise UAH 20 bn loan for road reconstruction
While amending the national budget for 2008, the government will foresee state guarantees to raise UAH 20 billion (USD 1 / UAH 4.85) in loans to reconstruct roads, Ukrainian Premier Yulia Tymoshenko said on Tuesday.
She said that the Cabinet of Ministers had foreseen another number of amendments. Thus, all revenues received from transport taxes will be sent for the reconstruction of communal roads. Special funds on financing road reconstruction, which are currently distributed between the roads of local and international importance on a 40-60% basis, will be distributed on a 50-50% basis. Additional UAH 500 million will be allocated from the budget's special fund for the reconstruction of communal roads. "UAH 200 million of the sum will remain in those regions, which will host Euro 2012," Tymoshenko said.
