Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port starts receiving new crop grain for transshipment
Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port declares about beginning of the new grain crop acceptance at Novorossisk grain terminal (the subsidiary of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port) for export transshipment, AgriMarket.info cites the port’s media-department according to RZD-Partner.
Since July 1, 2008, the government of Russia has canceled the export duties for wheat and barley, that had been effective during half a year. From this period, the cargo owners will export grain at zero rates.
Cancellation of the export duties for grain and supplies of new crop to Novorossiysk port would favor to increase of the cargo turnover and execution of the production plan of the company in 2008, stated Igor Vilinov, General Manager of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port.
In 2007, Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port transshipped 5.808 mln tonnes of grain (54% from the total volume exported via Russia's sea ports), up 42% from as compared to 2006 (4.084 mln tonnes).
