STX shipyard starts construction of two new tankers for PRISCO
Shipbuilders from STX shipyard (South Korea) carried out steel cutting for two new PRISCO’s tankers, Primorsk Shipping Corporation informs. It is planned to take delivery of above tankers on February and April 2009.
PRISCO ordered to build 7 oil tankers of 51 000 tons deadweight each at STX Shipbuilding Company Ltd. All these tankers will be D (-25) class of Winterization according to newly developed Lloyd’s Register’s standards of building and operation for the ships working in the conditions of negative degrees. All new tankers will be double hulled. Moreover, above tankers will be fitted with special systems and equipment for safe operation and transportation of bulk liquid cargoes in the conditions of negative degrees.
