FESCO acquires 50-pct share of Vladivostok Container Terminal earlier owned by N-Trans Group

FESCO Transport Group has officially announced the completion of a transaction on purchase of a 50-pct share of Vladivostok Container Terminal through acquisition of 100-pct share of National Container Company LLC earlier owned by N-Trans Group. The deal valued at $200 was completed on July 3, 2008.

National Container Company LLC is a legal entity different from National Container Company owned by FESCO and First Quantum on parity basis.

FESCO Transport Group created on the basis of Far Eastern Shipping Company is one of the leading container operators in Russia. In 2007, the Group’s throughput exceeded 2.4 million TEU.

The deadweight of the Group’s fleet exceeds 1 million tonnes. The Group’s rolling stock numbers over 17,000 units. The Group’s port transshipment facilities have the capacity exceeding 1.6 million TEU.

Besides FESCO the Group comprises National Container Company (Russia’s largest operator of container terminals co-managed the Group and First Quantum; Transgarant (one of Russia’s largest railway operators specializing in transportation of dry bulk cargo); Russkaya Troika CJSC (JV with Russian Railways OJSC, specializing in railway transportation of containers); FESCO ESF Ltd (feeder container carrier at the Baltic Sea); DalRefTrans (transportation of refrigerated cargo); Commercial Port of Vladivostok (one of the largest ports in the Far East of Russia ); FESCO Integrated Transport (the Group’s logistics operator).
