In January-June, 2008, Commercial Seaport of Izmail, one of the largest ports at Danube (Ukraine, Odessa region) increased its throughput by 3.5%, year-on-year, to 3.9 million tonnes, the port’s administration informs. In the reported period, transshipment of transit cargo grew by 2.3%, year-on-year, to 1.3 million tonnes, RBC reports.
The growth should be attributed to increased transshipment of dry bulk: coal – by 0.8%, fertilizers – by 1%, transit rolled metal – by 60.7%, cast iron – by 8.8%.
