In January-February export of Russia’s oil through the oil terminal at the Port of Primorsk (Leningrad region) dropped by 6.7 percent, to 11.015.000 tons, PortNews IAA reports citing the Port Authority statement. The decline in crude oil volumes was primarily due to the pipeline repair works conducted by the Transneft from December 2009 to February 2010. The pipeline has been repaired and is expected to restore traffic volumes.
Total deliveries of diesel fuel through the port increased by 11.7%, to 903.5 thousand tons
Commercial Sea Port of Primorsk is the top largest Russia’s North-West seaport handling exported oil and petroleum products. The Port’s throughput in 2009 was reported at 79.157.2 tons of crude oil and diesel fuel. Last year 1.869 ships called at the port (935 inbound and 934 outbound).
