Trieste port cargo traffic up 4.5%

The cargo traffic at the northern Italian port of Trieste climbed 4.5 percent year-on-year to 28.5 million tonnes in the first seven months of 2008, the port announced.
Container traffic for July showed a rise of 8.7 percent year-on-year to 31,085 TEUs.
Between January and July container traffic at the port surged 33.7 percent year-on-year 200,000 TEUs.
