Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa starts construction of new container carrier for FESCO
On September 5, Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa (Poland) laid down the keel of a container carrier FESCO DALNEGORSK of B178-I/26 series, the company’s press center reports.
41,850-dwt vessel has the capacity of 3,091 TEU. Its length is 220.5 m, width – 32.24 m, draft – 10.50 m, speed – 22.2 knots. There is also an additional possibility to load 500 refrigerated containers.
The first vessel of the series, FESCO DIOMID, is nearing completion. The delivery is scheduled for October 2008. All in all, Stocznia Szczecinska Nowa is to build 7 container carriers for FESCO till 2010.
The first vessel series В-170 – FESCO VITIM was launched on May 17 of the current year. It operates at St. Petersburg - North Europe service from August 28.
